Book Worming

Whilst being at college I never had time to read anything other than a biology or chemistry book. I decided that in my gap year I would attempt to read more. I know, I know its a bit of a lame "goal" to have for a gap year, but I loved reading as a child and, in a way, missed the delights of never being able to put down a book. To start my reading marathon I read 'Gone Girl', a book I had heard much about due to the making of the film. As soon as I finished it I forced it upon my sister and told her she must read it(and that she only had a few days too because I had to return it to the library!) I absolutely bloody loved it. It would definitely be in my top 10 books, it was that good. I spent my lunch breaks at work reading it and literally couldn't put it down. The only bad thing about it was the ending. I mean, Gillian Flynn, what was that about? People that have read it will know exactly what I'm talking about! To those that haven't, READ IT! Even with the poor ending, it's worth it.
After spending two weeks solidly engrossed in the book I thought I'd take a trip to the cinema and see the film. Now I would say the book got 10 out of 10, but sadly 5 minutes into the film I was already bored. I'm not sure if that was because the film version was simply rubbish or because I knew everything that was going to happen, therefore removing any sense of excitement from it. Either way, I didn't enjoy it and would recommend just sticking to the book, or for those not so into reading, just go and see the film.
