Photo of the Day

January the 8th
Today was another long day, yet again spent at work. I couldn't wait to get home, have dinner and get into bed! My photo of the day was taken after work, once I was in bed. It's of the book I'm currently reading which I recommend to you all! I've got today off so hopefully il finish my knitting post and go down to Brighton to purchase some material which I will use to make a pillow case!

Photo of the Day

7th of January
Today has been one long day! I was told there was limited hours at work because so many we're used up over Christmas. However I agreed to work 1-5 today which then changed to 9-5 which then yet again changed to 9-9.15! So today has been one hell of a day. I'm now sat with a cup of tea and a bowl of lentil and tomato soup. My photo of the day isn't that great today because all I've done is work, but I took this on the way to work because everywhere was frosty and the sky looked like it might snow!

Photo of the Day

Sixth of January
Back at work again today but finished early at 2. This meant I had four hours alone before my family all came home so I decided firstly to do a bit of knitting. I've been wanting for a while to practice some different patterns so I took some old yellow wool and purple knitting needles and cracked on. I perfected my simple ribbing but as I reached the stage of boredom I dropped a stitch, ruining the whole thing! Therefore I moved to the sewing machine. My mother gave me her old knitting bag the other day that she found in the attic which contained some black material so I thought the best thing to make in the short space of time I had was a pillow case. My sewing skills, at the moment, aren't great so a pillow case was the best place to start! My photo of the day is what I took whilst sewing. I'm going to head to Brighton on Friday to buy some material to make some nicer cases, but at the moment I'm just sticking to the material I can easily ruin!

Photo of the day

Today was yet another miserably foggy day. If I haven't before explained; I live in uckfield, but work in the neighbouring town called Crowborough where my boyfriend also lives. Crowborough is actually the highest point in East Sussex so it seems to have its own climate some of the time!
Today's photo was taken at the beginning of my day. Today was the dreaded "First Monday of January" so it was back to work for both me and my boyfriend. I was up at 8 to make breakfast and just before I left I went to say goodbye to my favourite puppy in the world, Woody. In the photo he looks super cute so it was easy to chose today's photo!

Superdrug Haul (plus some extras)

I did this haul a while a go now, but never got round to reviewing the products I bought so now I have been using them for a couple of months I can give you the best possible review. First of all is the Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer. This was the first primer I had ever purchased but they're so great when it comes to creating a look that needs to last. The primer is extremely light and feels like a moisturiser when you apply it to the skin. It also mattifies the skin incredibly well which is perfect for those with naturally oily skin, like myself.
Another product ideal for those with oily skin is Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream. I put a thin layer of this over the primer to conceal those notoriously blotchy areas such as the nose, forehead and eyes. Depending on how long I need my make up to last I also apply a small amount to the cheeks. Since using this BB cream along side the primer my skin is much more hydrated and the appearance of blemishes and redness is hugely reduced. This BB cream is an 8-in-1 cream providing you with many different effects to create healthy looking skin.
I love matte foundations at the moment and I always have trouble finding foundations that don't dry my skin out, but this foundation does everything I need it to do. I apply it mainly to the checks and nose with a smaller amount on the forehead and chin. Again, it's a great product to reduce shine caused by oily skin. I find some foundations can seriously clog your pores causing you to have an outbreak of spots but this foundation doesn't clog your pores at all. In fact, since using all these products I haven't had one spot!

Red lips look great no matter what. They create a focal point on the face for either a day or night out and go perfectly with pretty much any outfit. What drew me to this product was, honestly, the advert. I loved the advert and the simple yet elegant packaging. Trying to chose which shade I preferred proved difficult, but in the end I chose Liyas shade. I tend to wear the lipstick on its own during the day, but for anything night time related I wear a gloss over it. The first time I wore this lipstick with the gloss I did find it bled so to avoid this in the future I now exfoliate my lips and then put a base on them such as my BB cream or primer before lining my lips. My favourite gloss, which you may have previously seen in my Charlotte Tilbury make-up tutorial video, is Charlotte Tilburys Lip Luste: Lip lacquer. This creates an unbelievable shine which lasts ages!

Another lipstick I bought recently was from Topshop. I have an obsession with burgundy at the moment and so to complete my collection of burgundy products I bought Topshops Matte Finnish lipstick in Beguiled. I must admit, it is more purple than I hoped when I ordered it, but I've warmed to it the more I have worn it. This lipstick looks great without any gloss, no matter the occasion and has a nice moisturising quality to it.

I have always had issues getting my eyelashes to look long and full, but I recently bought a new pair of eyelash curlers to replace my old ones. I haven't had great experiences with eyelash curlers as when I was younger I used some that cut my eyelashes off, but I don't have that worry with my new ones. They are MAC and because I purchased them form John Lewis I received discount (the perks of working for Waitrose). I've used them non stop since I bought them and if they ever break I will without a doubt buy another pair! They curl my lashes incredibly well and my lashes only require small amounts of mascara to lengthen them further. I use a range of mascaras, but I tend to stick to ones that have a comb and own only a few with a volumising, thicker brushes as I like to define each lash more than thicken them. A great volumising mascara is Charlotte Tilbury's full fat lashes.

That's all from me today but I hope you have enjoyed reading my first make-up haul item reviews! Il be posting my photo of the day later- make sure to check it out (it's a cute one)

Photo of the Day

Fourth of January
Today's officially the last day of the Christmas holidays, meaning no more excuses when I end up sleeping until half 10. Christmas definitely is the best time of year and I'm sure many of you will agree! Tomorrow is back to work unfortunately for many of us but I can't complain as I'm hardly working at all this week, meaning I can spend a lot of time blogging! I've also gained a new found love for Pinterest so take a look at my profile rebeccagibson4.

Today was yet another lazy day. After waking up at half 10, still feeling tired, I was treated to breakfast in bed whilst watching Big Fat Anniversary Quiz which me and James took part in at home scoring us third place (although Russell brand and Noel Fielding we're cheating!) We then had some tasty left over soup made by his Father, which truely is the best soup EVER, before heading out for a walk with the dogs. It was a lot colder than expected so arrived home with a numb noes and toes! We then lit a fire to warm us up and made some hot chocolate to drink ( my two favourite things). James then caught up with the football whilst I knitted my current project, a cushion case, because secretly there really is nothing worse than watching football! Today's photo is a combination of two. The one on the right shows the sunny day we woke up to and the one on the left shows the foggy evening we ventured out into. I hope you've all enjoyed your last day of Christmas! Now is time to face reality again.
Happy blogging!

Photo of the Day

Third of January
Today's photo basically sums up my day. Nothing but dark sky's and rain. I haven't done anything at all really, it's just been one of those days. I have however been browsing the world of Pinterest and have found some brilliant new sewing and knitting projects! More on that tomorrow, but for now, good night!
