I did this haul a while a go now, but never got round to reviewing the products I bought so now I have been using them for a couple of months I can give you the best possible review. First of all is the Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer. This was the first primer I had ever purchased but they're so great when it comes to creating a look that needs to last. The primer is extremely light and feels like a moisturiser when you apply it to the skin. It also mattifies the skin incredibly well which is perfect for those with naturally oily skin, like myself.
Another product ideal for those with oily skin is Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream. I put a thin layer of this over the primer to conceal those notoriously blotchy areas such as the nose, forehead and eyes. Depending on how long I need my make up to last I also apply a small amount to the cheeks. Since using this BB cream along side the primer my skin is much more hydrated and the appearance of blemishes and redness is hugely reduced. This BB cream is an 8-in-1 cream providing you with many different effects to create healthy looking skin.
I love matte foundations at the moment and I always have trouble finding foundations that don't dry my skin out, but this foundation does everything I need it to do. I apply it mainly to the checks and nose with a smaller amount on the forehead and chin. Again, it's a great product to reduce shine caused by oily skin. I find some foundations can seriously clog your pores causing you to have an outbreak of spots but this foundation doesn't clog your pores at all. In fact, since using all these products I haven't had one spot!
Red lips look great no matter what. They create a focal point on the face for either a day or night out and go perfectly with pretty much any outfit. What drew me to this product was, honestly, the advert. I loved the advert and the simple yet elegant packaging. Trying to chose which shade I preferred proved difficult, but in the end I chose Liyas shade. I tend to wear the lipstick on its own during the day, but for anything night time related I wear a gloss over it. The first time I wore this lipstick with the gloss I did find it bled so to avoid this in the future I now exfoliate my lips and then put a base on them such as my BB cream or primer before lining my lips. My favourite gloss, which you may have previously seen in my Charlotte Tilbury make-up tutorial video, is Charlotte Tilburys Lip Luste: Lip lacquer. This creates an unbelievable shine which lasts ages!
Another lipstick I bought recently was from Topshop. I have an obsession with burgundy at the moment and so to complete my collection of burgundy products I bought Topshops Matte Finnish lipstick in Beguiled. I must admit, it is more purple than I hoped when I ordered it, but I've warmed to it the more I have worn it. This lipstick looks great without any gloss, no matter the occasion and has a nice moisturising quality to it.
I have always had issues getting my eyelashes to look long and full, but I recently bought a new pair of eyelash curlers to replace my old ones. I haven't had great experiences with eyelash curlers as when I was younger I used some that cut my eyelashes off, but I don't have that worry with my new ones. They are MAC and because I purchased them form John Lewis I received discount (the perks of working for Waitrose). I've used them non stop since I bought them and if they ever break I will without a doubt buy another pair! They curl my lashes incredibly well and my lashes only require small amounts of mascara to lengthen them further. I use a range of mascaras, but I tend to stick to ones that have a comb and own only a few with a volumising, thicker brushes as I like to define each lash more than thicken them. A great volumising mascara is Charlotte Tilbury's full fat lashes.
