New Years Resolutions

First of January: As usual I spent the first of January pondering what New Years resolutions I should decide upon. Photography has always been a large part of my life, not only to remember special moments but also to document my memories. An idea therefore sprung to mind; why not post one photo on here a day. My blog seemed the perfect place to document this year as I see it almost as a diary. This year also will be a special one for me as I will be attending university in September but my never ending change in career path my lead to different paths. So to kick it off here's my photo from the first of January.

Second of January: The second day in January bought me yet another lazy day full of lying on the sofa watching pointless television and taking my boyfriends car to the garage. However amongst the laziness I did escape to collect a few parcels containing a new Cath Kidston sewing box, a new lipstick (which I will be reviewing soon) and some eyelash curlers. Another parcel I had to collect was a new book which I could not wait to receive as I was eager to start sewing and creating some clothes. The book I bought was written by Wendy Ward called The Beginners Guide to Dressmaking. I've had a brief read and it gives simple designs which you can use to create simple items such as shift dresses and t-shirts then gives you tips on how to add more detail to the design. As soon as I get making I will let you all know!

New year!

Happy New Year!
I love the Christmas season simply because straight after Christmas we have New year- two excuses to party and where there's a party there's glitter and the chance to dress to impress! Talking about outfits I wanted to show to you all my new purchase; a new winter coat from Topshop. It's absolute perfection! After having it for only one day it saved me on New Year's Eve by keeping me unbelievably warm on the walk home. I also want to share with you my sign of a good coat. It is when you put your cold hands into the pockets and they begin to sting due to the pockets being so warm. That's how you know you're on to a winner. Here is a photo to feast your eyes on!

I promised you all a knitting tutorial and I will get that posted as soon as I have done a bit of editing!
Happy new year everyone!

Lovely London

London is best at Christmas time- the never ending lights never let you down and the shop windows are ever so enticing. Me and my boyfriend spent a rare day venturing around London (rare because we both love staying at home doing nothing). We managed to fit a lot in to one day, without spending to much money! Of course the train was the most expensive part of the day totalling at £35 for an all day travel pass which allowed us to use the underground as much as we wanted. This meant we could easily get everywhere we wanted without to much walking. This involved going to Winter Wonderland, Liberty, Harrods and Borough market. Unfortunately Winter Wonderland was a HUGE let down! It was no where near as good as I expected to be, but I think maybe because it wasn't incredibly busy, but still it was awful. Although we did go on a mini version of the London Eye which revealed a side to my boyfriend I had never seen before- a man afraid of heights (which was hilarious!)
I love love love Liberty. Its architecture is beautiful inside and out, not to mention all the items within. It never fails to create a elegant Christmas theme and the precisely designed fabrics are always too tempting.  If anyone else shares my appreciation for Liberty, I recommend the Liberty programme on 4od.
I had never been to Borough Market before but the smell of great food and in great quantities has made it one of my favourite places to go in London. There was a great atmosphere and it was right next to our train station so it was a great place to stop off and grab some food for the way home. We bought some warming pear and apple muled wine which tasted just like Christmas! Here's some photographs from the day. I must say, Ive never seen a full dear minus the head before hanging from a wall, but it was worth a photo...

I'm still here...

I've managed to get to the age of 19 without loosing anyone close to me so in the back of my mind I've always worried about how long that would last for. I haven't had much time to post recently due to the illness of my grandad. I've never been great when dealing with death or illness so this week has been tough. However in situations like this you must always think positively and thankfully he is now on the mend. I just wanted to promise you that I haven't disappeared and have a post currently in the making ( I won't reveal to much as I want it to be a surprise.) I also some exciting knitting tutorials coming up at the end of December where I will be teaching all you lovely textile mad people how to create some brilliant items such as scarfs and cushion covers! Hope you all have a lovely Christmas!
Happy blogging😘
